Transit Tunnel Closure This Sunday Night

Port Authority light rail service and several bus routes will be detoured by a nighttime closure of the Mt. Washington Transit Tunnel this Sunday, August 18.

The transit tunnel will be closed for fan replacement from 8 p.m. until the night’s end of service.

During the closure, Red Line and Blue Line T service will operate only as far north as South Hills Junction. Bus shuttles will operate between in both directions between South Hills Junction and Station Square, and Subway Local T service will operate in both directions between the North Shore and Station Square.

Several bus routes will detour via Warrington and Arlington avenues, but most regular bus stops will be maintained.

Riders should allow for extra time when traveling on detoured service.
