Park and Ride News for P12 Riders

Port Authority, in partnership with PennDOT and Plum Borough, will open a new 64-space park and ride lot on Monday, December 16, 2013. The lot is located on Route 286 at New Texas Road in Plum and is served by existing inbound and outbound stops on the P12 Holiday Park Flyer bus route. The new lot features three spaces for people with disabilities and is paved, striped and lighted.

Port Authority would like to recognize State Sen. Jim Brewster and State Rep. Joseph Markosek for their support and assistance in moving this project forward.

This lot joins Alpine Village as a park and ride option for P12 riders. P12 riders should also be advised of the permanent closure of the Holiday Park VFD lot, which has been closed for the past year due to construction on the VFD building. The Holiday Park VFD recently notified Port Authority that it does not wish to continue the lease agreement for a park and ride on its property. The VFD has been very supportive of transit over the years and although the closing of this lot is beyond Port Authority’s control, we apologize for any inconvenience that it may cause.
Port Authority staff will continue to work to identify additional park and ride opportunities for riders in the area.

For more information on the new lot, view our Park and Ride webpage and select Plum Park and Ride from the map.
