July 18-20 Partial East Busway Closure

A portion of the Martin Luther King Jr. East Busway will be closed this weekend due to construction. The P1 East Busway-All Stops bus route will be detoured during the closure.

The busway will be closed between Port Authority’s East Liberty bus garage and the Neville Street ramp on Friday, July 18 from 9 p.m. until that evening’s end of service.

The P1 will not serve East Liberty or Negley stations during the closure. Temporary stops will be located on Ellsworth Avenue adjacent to East Liberty Station and on Ellsworth at Negley Avenue.

Additionally, all day Saturday and Sunday, July 19-20, the busway will be closed between East Liberty bus garage and East Liberty Station. The P1 will not serve East Liberty Station during this time and temporary stops will be located on Ellsworth Avenue adjacent to the station.

Riders should allow for extra travel time during the detours.

The busway will reopen for Monday morning’s commute.
