New Member Appointed to Port Authority Board of Directors

Port Authority of Allegheny County is pleased to welcome Joseph Brimmeier as the newest member of its Board of Directors. Mr. Brimmeier was recently appointed to the Board by Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald. His term on the Board will expire December 31, 2016.

Mr. Brimmeier brings extensive experience in transportation and government to the Board. From 2003 to 2011, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Earlier, he served as Chief of Staff to former U.S. Rep. Ron Klink, D-Murrysville and as Deputy Auditor General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Mr. Brimmeier has also held various positions within Allegheny County government, including Parks Director.

He is graduate of Youngstown State University. Mr. Brimmeier is a native of Pittsburgh and resides in Ross Township.

“Now more than ever, it is crucial that our Board consists of leaders with vision and expertise. I am confident that Joe will quickly become a valued asset to our Board during this challenging chapter in Port Authority’s history,” said Steve Bland, CEO of Port Authority.

Port Authority’s Board of Directors is made up of nine unpaid members appointed by the County Executive and approved by County Council.
