Wood St T Station Closed Next Two Weekends

Wood Street T Station will be closed for the next two weekends so that Port Authority contractors can conduct rail maintenance. During this time, all Downtown T service will begin and end at Steel Plaza Station.

The closures will begin each Saturday at approximately 12:45 a.m., after the final T has departed Downtown. Work will occur around the clock until Sunday afternoon or early Monday morning before the a.m. commute. Closures are scheduled for the following times:

  • Saturday, Nov. 5 at 12:45 a.m. until Sunday, Nov. 6 at approximately 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 12 at 12:45 a.m. until Monday, Nov. 14 at approximately 4:30 a.m. (before start of morning T service)

During the closures, riders should board outbound T service at Steel Plaza's Track 4/B Platform. Signs will be posted to direct riders to the correct boarding location.

Special shuttle buses will not be provided between stations. However, riders normally traveling inbound to Wood Street Station may catch any 61-series or 71-series bus outside Steel Plaza at Sixth Avenue and Bigelow Square, then take it to Sixth Avenue at Wood Street. To travel from Wood Street to Steel Plaza, riders may board any 61-series or 71-series bus at Sixth Avenue at Wood Street and ride it to Fifth Avenue at Ross Street.
