Community Invited to Name Vehicle-Tracking System

Starting August 1, transit riders and local citizens are invited to suggest a name for Port Authority’s vehicle-tracking system by visiting http://paac.mindmixer.com

Participants can share their ideas or weigh in on ideas submitted by others. The conversation will be active through August 31; at that time, Port Authority will review the ideas and consider them.

The GPS-based tracking system is currently available on eight bus routes and additional bus routes will be added throughout the year. Port Authority will begin testing similar technology on its light rail system in 2015.

Riders can view vehicle-tracking information at realtime.portauthority.org.

August 2-3 Partial East Busway Closure

A portion of the Martin Luther King Jr. East Busway will be closed this weekend for construction. The P1 East Busway-All Stops bus route will be detoured in both directions during the closure.

The busway will be closed between East Liberty Division and East Liberty Station all day Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3. The busway will reopen for Monday morning’s commute.

The P1 will not serve East Liberty station during the closure but will instead serve temporary stops at Ellsworth Avenue at Emerson Street. Riders should allow for extra travel time during the detour.
